MFE secures major contract for Cairo Festival City
MFE Formwork Technology SDN BHD has secured the formwork design and supply contract for the residential developments within the prestigious Cairo Festival City. MFE will provide over 21,000 square metres of aluminium formwork and give technical support to the main contractor partnership of Al Futtaim Carillion and Orascom Construction Industries. Altogether MFE will supply 6 sets of specially designed formwork to construct 480 luxury villas of varying designs ranging from 630 to 933 square metres.
MFE’s proven track record of high speed construction and unrivalled quality in concrete works convinced the developer, Al Futtaim Group of U.A.E., that the MFE aluminium formwork system will guarantee successful achievement of the construction programme.
The $9 billion Cairo Festival City is a premier, mixed-use three million square metre development in the Egyptian Capital. The new development will be strategically located at the gateway to New Cairo City on the Ring Road, 20 kilometres southeast of greater Cairo and only 15 minutes from Cairo's International Airport.
Cairo Festival City's residential districts will set new standards in modern living. Oriana Luxury Villas will be a secure and tranquil gated residential community with 480 Mediterranean styled villas. The shopping centre and phase one of the residential units will be completed by the end of 2010 and the finished development will be inaugurated in 2011.

Al Futtaim also have plans to construct a Four Seasons 400-room luxury hotel. MFE are currently in discussions with the group for the supply of formwork.
